Letter from the Chairperson

Dear friends,

In a time when our people have become favorite villains of movie producers, when our ancient artifacts are in danger of being auctioned off for private purchase, when the conspiracy theorists and naysayers among us prefer to defeat noble causes than to join them, what must we do? What have other persecuted people done before us?

For one, targeted people agree on a common cause, feel a sense of co-responsibility to that cause regardless of individual ability, and mobilize community members into action.

Second, they realize there is no quick fix for turning the tide against them. While philanthropy and volunteering can foster goodwill in immigrants’ new homes, political activism and business networking provide other legs for the stool.

Third, they celebrate their people’s contributions - past and present, tell their story, and engage others in their struggle.

PARSA Community Foundation was born out of the desire to help all of the above, to fight the good fight, and to win. How are we doing it?

PARSA CF’s mission is twofold: to strengthen entrepreneurial individuals and nonprofits that serve our community, and to mobilize national resources to take on initiatives that go beyond local organizations’ domain.
