Guiding Principles
PARSA Community Foundation is focused on grant making efforts that are in alignment with the organization’s mission and support one of our three common causes. Our focus is on the long-term viability of efforts; one-time projects will be supported only if they are strategic or lead to capacity-building. In order to encourage grant recipients to develop a diverse funding base in order to encourage long-term viability, we attempt to minimize situations in which PARSA is the sole funder by encouraging recipients to seek matching funds whenever possible. We strongly encourage partnerships among NGOs and other organizations to support collaboration. PARSA aims to achieve maximum impact by finding the highest quality grantees and promoting successful investments. Our grant making process is driven by the quality of available applications rather than by the dollar amounts available for grants. Grants are awarded on the basis of merit, educational importance, relevance to program goals and cost-effectiveness.
