The Association of Fundraising Professionals professional advancement programs and courses give every professional, no matter what level of experience they have, the opportunity to enrich their skills and add to their knowledge base. AFP offers audioconferences, classes and a conference on an international level, as well as regional programs in many areas. Information is on available courses in fundraising and leadership. Boardsource works to increase the effectiveness of nonprofit organizations by strengthening boards of directors through a consulting practice, publications, tools, and membership program. They provides training, education, and consulting services at the local, regional and national levels.

CompassPoint Nonprofit Services is a consulting, research, and training organization providing nonprofits with management tools, strategies, and resources to lead change in their communities. With offices in San Francisco and Silicon Valley, they work with community-based nonprofits in executive transition, planning, boards of directors, finance systems and business planning, fundraising, and technology. They offer workshops in a variety of locations in the San Francisco Bay Area on a range of topics in non-profit management including board development, financial management, fundraising, and strategic planning. On October 25, they will hold BiztechDay, a no-fluff one day technology learning bootcamp for small business owners and entrepreneurs.

The Foundation Center connects nonprofits and the grantmakers supporting them to tools they can use and information they can trust. The Center maintains the most comprehensive database on U.S. grantmakers and their grants. They also operate research, education, and training programs designed to advance philanthropy at every level. They offer a range of workshops, classes and events in their offices in Atlanta, Cleveland, New York, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. The Virtual Classroom of the Learning Lab section of the Foundation Center's web pages have online tutorials as well as an offering of formal training programs in the areas of the funding research process, proposal writing, grantseeking on the web, developing a fundraising plan, and related topics.

Grantsmanship Center is a Los Angeles-based organization which provides program planning, proposal writing, and fundraising training for members of the nonprofit sector. Institute for Policy Studies offers workshops held in the evening in the Washington D.C. area by SALSA, the Social Action and Leadership School for Activists. They include money matters, communications, organizational development, policy, starting a successful nonprofit cyberactivism, and more.
