Bay Area groups get $25,000 in grants to promote Persian culture

An Iranian literary think tank, a Persian preschool, and the Tiburon International Film Festival are among a group of Bay Area organizations sharing $25,000 in grants to promote Persian culture.

The money comes from the PARSA Community Foundation, a Redwood City philanthropic group that promotes Persian social entrepreneurship, art and culture nationwide with its annual Mehregan Grants, named for the Persian festival marking the autumn harvest.

Six Bay Area nonprofit agencies won the grants this year and will share $25,000 of the $100,000 PARSA disbursed nationwide. Read more.
