The specific purpose of the non-profit company, NAMAH, is to promote the broadest possible public appreciation and interest in Iranian and world performing arts, including dance, music and theater, through public performances, educational outreach programs, workshops, lectures and studio instruction.
Since 1994, the renowned dance company has performed an exciting body of work, igniting rigorous dance technique with ancient mysticism. NAMAH is led by MFA graduate in Dance from UCLA, Banafsheh Sayyad, one of the few bearers of authentic Persian Dance, and a pioneer in Contemporary Persian Dance. NAMAH is one of the only Persian Dance Companies with an international critical and audience acclaim, gained from extensive touring, and has advanced the position of Persian dance as a viable form in the world dance scene. NAMAH has toured annually throughout North America and Europe from 2002-2007 and recently toured Australia. | |
