• Fostering an interdisciplinary, inter-departmental approach to university needs in order to enhance Columbia’s world-class Middle East program.
• Collaborating with different regional institutes and other units of the university to deal with issues and processes that transcend one region.
• Educating the general public about the Middle East
• Providing a much-needed forum for Middle East faculty and students across the different disciplines, including lectures, conferences, and social events.
• Encouraging University development efforts to support and enhance the performance of these mission objectives.
The MEI is based at the School of Int'l and Public Affairs at Columbia. We promote the study of the ME at Columbia, organize events, and do outreach to the community. | |
