The International Qajar Studies Association is a non-profit, non-political, educational, cultural, and social association, whose aim is to be a forum for the exchange of views among scholars of the Qajar era and members of the public at large, in order to ensure the survival of the contributions of the Qajars and the Qajar era for future generations. In pursuance of this mission, the International Qajar Studies Association seeks to be a sponsor of research, publication and discussion of topics related to the Qajars and the Qajar era. To this end the International Qajar Studies Association sets itself the following goals or aims: 1-Encourage and foster research and publication of topics pertaining to the Qajar era. 2-Provide a forum for information on and discussion of topics pertaining to the Qajar (Kadjar) era. 3-Solicit articles and research on the Qajar era to be published in an annual Journal of the Association. 4-Organize lectures, seminars, conferences, exhibits and cultural events on the Qajar era. 5-Engage in a Genealogy Project in order to establish a database on the various Qajar families, both princely and non-princely. 6-Establish an archive of Qajar related documents; a collection of Qajar paintings and photographs (or copies); a collection of Qajar memorabilia; and a library of books and manuscripts related to the Qajars and their time. 7-Sponsor the publication of books and articles related to both its Genealogy Project and its Archive Project. 8-Establish links with other like-minded associations, whose aims and mission correspond to those of this Association. 9-Publish a semi-annual Newsletter for its membership. 10-Raise funds, seek donations and endowments in pursuit of the above aims.

IQSA answers the need for a scholarly vehicle for the study of the Qajars and the Qajar era and the dissemination of information and research about the Qajar period that would otherwise not easily come to light. It also speaks to the wish of members of the greater Qajar family to create a vehicle through which the Qajar Diaspora can be given a focus and a means of gathering together.
